Belmond Pullman liveried DB 67024 returns the VSOE stock to Liverpool South Parkway prior to returning its Grand National revellers to the capital.
* The result of a fast reversal at Crewe meant this was 38E at this stage and very nearly caught me out!

The WCML Warrington - Crewe section was opened through here in 1837 by the Grand Junction Railway and the Liverpool line constructed by the LNWR in 1869.
WCML occupies the centre two tracks and the up Liverpool - Crewe the far track via the Flying Junction opened in 1881.

Brightening up an outstandly gloomy day, GBRf's 73962 'Dick Mabbutt' heads out of Uttoxeter on a late running 3Z40 test train (Derby RTC to Chester Middle Yard), with, out of view, 73963 'Janice' on the rear of the working.
