New Haven Railroad GE EP-4 class motor (streamliner) leads an eastbound passenger train while it's stopped at a station platform in Stamford, Connecticut, ca 1946. The first heavyweight car that is coupled behind the motor is most likely a parlor car. From the look of the trees in the background this photo appears to be taken during the winter season. The front train line connection pipe is leaking steam which turns into water vapor as shown in the photo.

New Haven Railroad EP-5 class motor 377 leads a westbound head-end heavy passenger train 181 on the electrified main line while it's stopped at a station platform in Stamford, Connecticut, 12-20-1967. The first heavyweight baggage car may be a Lackawanna Railway car, however; by this date it would be the Erie Lackawanna Railway. the two center tracks that are divided by a fence in the station platform area are the express track that by-pass the station. The famous triangular catenary is used in this area and farther on to the West. The tracks seen to far left are for MUTs operating in commuter service to New York City. Notice the short round end blade semaphore signals on the bridge.

New Haven Railroad GE EP-5 motor # 376 & EMD FL-9 locomotive # 2017 lead their respective passenger trains westbound at Stamford, Connecticut, 1968. The FL-9 along with its train is operation on a station platform track, while the EP-5 and its train is operating on an express track that by-passes the station. By the passenger equipment indicated on the EP-5 led train, this is most likely a connection train with the PRR for joint operation. The highway I-95 overpass bridge is seen in the background. This photo should be titled, "The Race Is On!"
