Wow I would have guessed, "Nineteen forties," but, no, the building is from 1950. Huh!

I wish I could park my damn car here, I get so sick of looking for places to park.

Weird 7-Up encounter in Montréal with the International Gnostic Association for Anthropological Studies. by Tim Kiser

Weird 7-Up encounter in Montréal with the International Gnostic Association for Anthropological Studies.

There is plenty to read on the window while you're hanging out out here. Here were relaxation, méditation, rêve, karma-dharma, astral transmutation, kabbale, alchimie, réincarnation, chakras, psychologie spirituelle, civilisations disparues, mythologies... 7-Up [with] lunch at all times! 7-Up [avec] déjeuner en tout temps!

Per a few different websites the International Gnostic Association for Anthropological Studies apparently has some kind of relationship (and is possibly the same thing as) the Gnostic Association of Cultural and Anthropological Studies, which has an entry in the Encyclopedia of Occultism and Parapsychology. The Wikipedia article about the latter organization's founder blathers on and on and on and on impenetrably.

The International Gnostic Association for Anthropological Studies has a website but please do not look at it if you are feeling shattered and vulnerable.

"Sunny Morning at Nongrocer," former Gordy's IGA with 20th century wall idea. by Tim Kiser

"Sunny Morning at Nongrocer," former Gordy's IGA with 20th century wall idea.

I never shopped here because it had gone out of business by the time I learned of its existence, but it reminds of me of memories of grocery shopping at other IGA stores in other parts of the U.S. I'm told people affectionately called it "Grody's."

Supposedly it was erected in 1950. Did this style of stone veneer exist in 1950, or would it have had to have been applied sometime later? Such as the 1970s? ANSWER ME!!

Is it a commercial building aping residential architecture, or was it a house converted to commercial use. Or are people living and working in there both. by Tim Kiser

Is it a commercial building aping residential architecture, or was it a house converted to commercial use. Or are people living and working in there both.

Answer me!!

Also the building is vulnerable to getting crashed into by vehicles, and I refuse to enter until a row of bollards is installed in front.

Says right here it's from 1950.

It is said to have been built in 1950. I'm ready to believe it!

I might as well mention that two big windows got blocked in sometime.
