The canopy recalls the architecture of strip clubs. It is thought not to be necessary to include an area code with the phone number: This is Wichita Falls and you already know what the area code is. Stars are not often gray.

The building is from 1950. According to historical roadside and satellite imagery at Google Streetview and Google Earth, the canopy structure was completed sometime between February 2018 and May 2020.

The absence of protective bollards around the support piers of the canopy is an invitation to motorists to spectacularly crash their cars into them.

On Santa Monica Boulevard in 2019 were these music studios, occupying a former office building, erected 1957, aged 62 years.

The building was more attractive when Ed Ruscha visited 45 years prior, in 1974. But it was still young then.

Ed Ruscha also visited in 2007, when the building was occupied by a business called Exclusive Caregivers.

A commercial building from the year 1953! We are in eisenhower times again.

Per G. Streetview this was formerly the Short Stop Bar.

Per its property record the upstairs is an apartment. The building is reported to have been remodeled in 1983 so maybe the stone veneer isn't from 1953?!

As we closely admire the building we notice traces of some kind of former awnings or ornamentations above the first floor windows and doors.

I was not fooled for even an instant by that phony mansard roof.

I predict that the building will never again be occupied, not by squatters nor anybody.
