In Idaho you can see epic views of the Snake river canyon in several locations. This photo was taken above the Swan Falls Dam over looking the canyon.
The rain showers can be seen in the background mixed with the clouds. A beautiful representation of the canyon's immense size.

Forest fires are a natural and necessary part of the ecosystem. Even healthy forests contain dead trees and decaying plant matter; when a fire turns them to ashes, nutrients return to the soil instead of remaining captive in old vegetation.
*Quick Tip*
Use a tripod, cable release, drop mirror and lower front curtain for sharp, detailed photos.

Our 22nd Anniversary my wife and I decided to go on a hike with beautiful meadows and calming streams. Along the way we found this magical place. I wanted to capture the golden hues of the grass and ground coverage along the stream bed during the early morning hour.

A long hike through the windy trails, over rocks and tree roots, this epic scene was worth every step. The fall colors in the grass were stunning to see.
The mountains in the distance are part of the Sawtooth mountain range in Stanley, Idaho.

A colorful meadow of Fall leaves lying beneath the trees. Boise Bogus Basin trail. A must do trail for photographers not only for the photo, but for the journey.
Taking day trips with the ones you love, makes the experience all more worth it. My wife is my new photography assistant...
