After seeing the phosphate train in Mezzouna we headed to the other side of the town to a spot in the countryside. About an hour later a 50 minutes late 060-DS 655 appeared storming through the dry landscape with train 13/5/72 Metlaoui - Tunis Ville. This is the only passenger service on this line with the return working coming back in the evening. The 060-DS's are mostly used for freight services however they seem to now work this passenger service as far as Sfax, the current limit for their permissible working.
“Old Bridge and Water” — An old and very dilapidated wooden bridge across the Valbona River, Albania.
This is one more (and perhaps the last) of my photographs from our brief foray into the Albanian Alps and the Valbona Valley during the summer of 2023. To recap, we were staying in Kosovo for several days, and one day our family member from Kosovo took us all on a trip into these remarkable mountains. I made the photograph on our return drive back to Kosovo.
We had stopped along a curve in the river when a small mosque stood on the other side of the river and was backed by the distant peaks far up the valley. We got out and walked around a bit, eventually venturing onto a bridge across the river. From that bridge we could look down on what I assumes a much older bridge, the one in this photograph. It looked like you probably still could cross it… but you probably would not want to try! The bridge fascinated me, but so did the perfectly clear mountain water flowing over the stones on the riverbed.

IC 1795 - Fish Head Nebula
IC 1795, also known as the “Fish Head Nebula,” is a star-forming region in the northern constellation of Cassiopeia. The colors we see in the nebula were created by adopting the Hubble “SHO” palette to map the narrowband emissions from oxygen, hydrogen, and sulfur atoms in blue, green, and red colors, respectively, and then blending the data with images of the region recorded through broadband (RGB) filters to give the stars their true colors. Not far in the sky from NGC 896, the famous Perseus Double Star Cluster. IC 1795 can be said to be part of IC 1805, the Heart Nebula, as part of a complex of star-forming regions that lie at the edge of a large molecular cloud in the constellations of Perseus and Cassiopeia. It is only 6,000 light-years away. Image processed in Pixinsight.
Data acquired from my backyard between November 28 and December 14, 2024.

“A Trogir Street” — A person sits at outdoor tables along an empty street in Trogir, Croatia.
During the summer of 2023 we took a long (10-week) looping trip through parts of Europe. We concluded the trip with about a week and a half in Croatia. The first few days were spent in Dubrovnik, and then we moved on to the vicity of Trogir, not far from Split, where we joined a big group of extended family members. Being so close to historic Trogir, we spent a good amount of time there.
The old town of Trogir is picturesque enough that it is now very popular with tourists, for better or for worse. Much of the construction is of these very light colored stones — they are found in the buildings, the walls, and the streets and sidewalks. I photographed this scene while out on a little photo walk with my friend Franka M. Gabler who knows this area well.

Built in 1966, the two older push-pull sets of TPC’s Aigle–Leysin rack railway are nearing their 60st birthday, with replacement due for 2028. They are regularly (but not daily) covering one complete diagram on the steep line up to the famous alpine resort, as here at the lowest of the four stations in the resort.
"Was gibt's?"
"Yo!" sagt Momo, "Zwei Frauen!
Sag: Alhamdulillah!"
