37427 'Bont Y Bermo' arrives at a wet Welshpool in July 1987. I don't remember the headboard being used all the time but have certainly seen it in use.
I believe this is the evening weekday working to Aberystwyth.
On one occasion I even saw the headboard in the cab of a DMU heading into Shrewsbury with an up working. The DMU was a loco substitution and was I think the first up working of the day.
This is the old station, a modern apology for a station has been built further down the line.
