We spent most of today with friends in the nearby village of Sillans-la-Cascade, first of all going on a bit of a walk with them to the cascade (waterfall) from which the village gets its name and then back for lunch at their place (where I took this photo). The weather was very kind indeed and we ended up having the loveliest of Fridays :-)

I joined a guided history tour around the village of Cheekpoint in Co. Waterford back in May. This small cottage had so much to love in its front garden, I especially liked the flowers in the symmetrically planted window boxes HWW!

Why "Archery 123" rather than Arch 123?
Because I think this old and pretty structure is decorative rather than functional.

I don't think it bears any load except itself.
Why?
Look at the precarious stone work of the side columns.

Archery 123 is just there to decorate the sweet little arched window and to provide a prominent location for the house number - 123.

Yes, I did some max-style post-processing, However, the brightly-painted old homes of Alsace are, in a way. already "post-processed to the max."
