Capturing the aftermath of history: These photos show the site in Aurora, Missouri, where the building recently collapsed. A reminder of the stories held within these walls. The fireplace hanging in the air and the paint tell many stories.

The first UFO of this year is done. This is my second roll of history, the subject is linen so all the parts are taken from pillows and sheets that were used while sleeping.
Each piece is either given to me or bought at a thrift store but all from Denmark. The vintage wooden roll was bought in the Netherlands.
The length of the roll is two meters.

Step inside the hallowed halls of the ancient Temple of Hera in Paestum, where history whispers its secrets and the sun itself pays homage to the divine. As sunlight streams through the majestic columns, casting enchanting shadows upon the sacred ground, a sense of serenity washes over all who stand witness to this timeless spectacle. Each ray of light seems to dance with reverence, illuminating the ancient stones with a celestial glow that transcends mortal understanding. In this moment of pure enchantment, one cannot help but be humbled by the enduring beauty and grace of this ancient sanctuary, where the earthly and the divine converge in harmonious unity.
In the heart of Paestum stands the majestic Temple of Athena, an ancient marvel that transcends time. As the morning sun bathes the temple's weathered columns in a golden glow, it stands as a silent witness to centuries of history. In the foreground, a delicate tree bursts into bloom, its vibrant blossoms a testament to the enduring beauty of nature amidst the enduring grandeur of ancient architecture. The juxtaposition of the temple's stoic presence and the tree's ephemeral blossoms creates a captivating scene, inviting viewers to ponder the passage of time and the cyclical nature of life and renewal.

This courthouse is Romanesque revival architecture, and was constructed in 1892. It is the work of architect James Riely Gordon, who practiced in San Antonio, Texas until 1902 before moving to New York. The native white limestone with red Pecos sandstone accents, is a signature work of Gordon's earlier works. It displays several features that have become hallmarks of his courthouse designs.
Sandstone deterioration and water infiltration took a toll on the courthouse, and a grant-funded project included restoring the sandstone and replacing the inappropriate metal windows. The grant also provides for restoring significant inferior public spaces. Restoration was completed in August 2002.
My high school student teaching team went on a field trip to the National Museum of the Pacific War. At back is my Australian Coast Watcher and Army Nurse. In front is my Combat Medic, Movie Star, early war Soldier, Filipina Guerrilla, Rosie the Riveter, WAC Lieutenant, Wendy the Welder, Japanese Soldier.
I have three other members that were unable to make the trip. They include a Singer with the USO (tours with Bob Hope on occasion) a Private with the 24th Infantry Division, and a Sergeant with the 38th Infantry Division.
I am trying to recruit another Japanese soldier, but they are hard to come by....even this one has his leggings wrapped over cowboy boots! That's Texas for ya!
