Signalman Derek Ashworth converses with a crew member of 37107, which along with sister 37519 have now been given authorisation to proceed from Great Rocks Junction Signal Box with 7H51, 22 empty wagons returning from ICI Northwich.
The Signal Box is located on the Up Main line alongside the Buxton Bridge Road overbridge. The box was originally part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway and first came into operation on 11th March 1923, replacing an 1891 built signal box in the same position. The photograph shows the box with a flat roof which replaced the original roof in the mid 1970's.

Signalman Steve Priest at work at Harden North box, New South Wales, on 14 December 2006. Already many of the levers (painted white) are out of use, and the box would close completely about six months later.
Note - the picture was posed, and Steve forget to have the traditional cloth in his hand normally used when pulling the levers.

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR) is a heritage railway in North Yorkshire, that runs through the North York Moors National Park. First opened in 1836 as the Whitby and Pickering Railway, the railway was planned in 1831 by George Stephenson as a means of opening up trade routes inland from the then important seaport of Whitby.
The line between Grosmont and Rillington was closed in 1965 and the section between Grosmont and Pickering was reopened in 1973 by the North York Moors Historical Railway Trust Ltd. The preserved line is now a tourist attraction and has been awarded several industry accolades.
Here, a locomotive is pulling into Goathland Station, serving the village of Goathland, renamed Aidensfield for the TV series 'Heartbeat', being watch by the signalman leaning out of his signal box.
