"Blue Peter" makes an imposing sight as it steams along the WCML through Euxton, Thursday 6th March 2025. The loco was on a crew training trip with a working from Crewe to Preston (5Z32) which would use the triangle at Lostock Hall to turn the train for the run back to Crewe.

Another Class of EMU that has fallen by the wayside is the Class 325 Royal Mail Postal units which were withdrawn en masse in October 2024 when Royal Mail decided to pull out of Mail on Rail (again). This time it was due to age of the 325 units being some 30 years old and sapres were getting hard to comeby.
The 325's were based on the Class 319 Thameslink emu with a Networker cab attached and a drawbar for haulage away from the electrified network (which didn't happen that often).
Introduced in 1994 they we able to call at Special "stations" that were built in Glasgow, Newcastle, Warrington, Stafford, Doncaster, Tonbridge and Willesden (London) to handle the units and other parcels stock.
Their main fare was the West & East Coast Main Lines and they could be see regularly pounding up and down with their traffic.
When Royal Mail withdrew from Rail the first time in 2003 they remained unused for just over a year when they were re-introduced to service with GBRf
I saw most on the West Coast and many around the North West.
325016 and 325008 sandwich another member of the class as they streak through Euxton on the southbound afternoon service from Shieldmuir (Glasgow) - Willesden on 19th September 2008.

1079FH, a Mercedes Benz Tourismo, was new to Alfa, Euxton, as BX14LCL, in March, 2014, and acquired from them in June, 2022.

DRS 66423 at the head of 6K06 (12:30 Shap Summit to Basford Hall) powers over Balshaw Lane Junction on a sunny November day.

"Fearless" saunters along the West Coast Main Line through Euxton as it runs light as 0Z50 (10:55 Crewe H.S. to Carlisle Upperby TMD. Thursday 21st November 2024.

45596 "Bahamas" at the head of "The Blackpool Illuminations Express" steams along the Down Slow on the approach to Euxton Junction. The working had started at Birmingham New Street at 08:17 and was due into Blackpool North at 12:35 and Bahamas had been on the point from Nuneaton.

WCR operated "Black 5" 45212 passing Euxton on the WCML on a charter from Preston to Derby - 27/10/2024
