New Haven Railroad DER-1b class ALCO DL-109 diesel electric locomotives 0743 & 0735 are seen leading a passenger train along the main line, ca 1946. These locomotives are most likely wearing the delivered Hunter green with gold pin stripe paint scheme. The car behind the second locomotive may be a PRR car from its appearance, a modified P70 possibly. You can see the engineer in his cab window. More than likely this is a location along the Shore Line Route and the train is perhaps one that operates between Boston and Washington, D.C., via Pennsylvania Station in New York City.

New Haven Railroad bocar 36761 is seen wearing the McGinnis paint scheme in a yard, ca early 1960's. This catchy paint scheme did attrack many viewers because it did standout among others, no matter if you liked it or not. This boxcar was an original 30000 series boxcar built in 1941, that was repainted and possibly rebuilt at the time. Only a few boxcars were painted in this black paint scheme with white lettering, while some other were painted in the all red orange McGinnis paint scheme with white & black lettering.

New Haven Railroad ALCO ABA lashup of FA-1 & FB-1 locomotives, with FA-1 locomotive 0429 in lead, heads an eastbound manifest freight train through the Route 128 Station, Massachusetts, 6-3-1956. There are numerous photos taken of passenger trains at the Route 128 Station, but just not so many freight trains photos being presented, especially with the ALCO FA-1 & FB-1 locomotives leading the train.

Numerous passengers including railfans and photographer de-boarded the train to observe the photo run-by.
New Haven Railroad GE EP-5 # 374, is seen in the AM while departing the station eastbound with a sleeping car passenger train while crossing over from a platform track to an express track near tower SS38 at Stamford, Connecticut, 1968. The EP-5 electric locomotives will not remain in service much longer, and the PC will shortly doom them. In the distance you can see the light block signals. This photo was taken by Bob Hughes from his location in tower SS38.
